Back from Rag works *yawn* I found out I'm really not good with origami >.> We're making over a thousand origamis to be pasted as the body cladding of our float, which is a Manticor. A Manticor is a lion with the face of a human and the tail of a scorpion, but they modified it into a regular lion with wings and stuck the name Manticor on it. The first time I heard what our float was going to be and was told it's a "lion with wings". I immediately said, "You mean Kero-chan?" Then everyone was like, "HUH?" I saw the model and half of the lion will look like an ordinary lion and the other half will be all metallic & robotic looking. The whole body of the lion will consist of mostly Tetra-pak origamis. THOUSANDS of them. And folding Tetra-paks isn't really easy. My fingers are still red now ^^; I can't wait to see it when it's done.
Tomorrow morning orientation day-3 will kick off at 7 am with the infamous 4 km run around campus known as the Ridge Run. Why is it called a RIDGE Run? Because the campus is situated on a rocky mountainous (if it's high enough to be called mountainous) area and so, 4 km of running sure is hell, baby yeah. Hopefully no one will knock on my door tomorrow morning at 6.30 to tell me I MUST run. Since, well, yours truly is the most non-sports person in the hall. No talent, no skill, and absolutely no will XD I did have fun on today's Internal Hunt, where the groups of freshmen walked around the hall finding clues and stopped in different posts on every block. Our block's post's game involved water guns and popping human targets (aka us seniors). It rained midway so we, errr..., got even drenched. But it was fun XD
I just realized Kenchan's layout uses the same picture(s) as Leareth's and Taryn's logs. It's a great picture, really, but it's so overused ^^; While we're on layouts, I changed the layout I intended for Sora to be use for this page instead =P Maybe tomorrow. I'm too tired now and I still want to check out my modules.

Anne, *waves weakly* I'm okay.. I just need to readjust myself to the hall's demanding lifestyle. It's really not so bad for us seniors and it's not like we can't NOT join. The freshmen have to be ready by 7 AM and their activity ends around 11 PM, then they still have to do Rag works. MUAHHAHA. Anyway, my new room is okay, it's still messy and I will have to overhaul it soon, but I like it XD
Fuuko, I'm not very free for the next couple of weeks with orientation going on. There are so many things to do so maybe next time, ne? Oh and BTW, I like Kodocha very very much *grin* It's one of my favourites and it's always good to watch when you're having a not-so-good day ^^ (Of course, right now, Hayama and Sana are getting exasperating *kicks Fuuka*)
Kenchan, I really like this new layout ^_^
Elyse must be having a lot of fun with Alexa *grin*
Fel, link URL ke log gua di log lu salah tuh... kurang "ta"-nya. Thanks yah =)
April, I've always liked your layouts, not excluding the current one. They always look classy ^_^x
Gotta get ready for briefing. I have exactly *glances sideways at the clock* 15 minutes.

This is going to be long....
The story is, I was supposed to move to my new room this morning but THEN I found out there was a freshman in the room I was supposed to move in. She was a China girl who barely spoke English but I managed to find out that she was supposed to be in room 214, a double room, which was full (from floor to ceiling) of people's things since it was used as a storage room during the holidays by MY friends, under MY name. So, I figured since I couldn't possibly move all their stuff out by myself (they will only be coming back from Indonesia tomorrow), I should just wait until these people come back and move their things out, and then the China girl can move into that room and I can move into my new room. Meanwhile, I was still staying in my old room, which happened to be Henny's holiday room, with all my things unpacked along with Henny's things.
So, I was going to take a quick nap around 11 am when my door was knocked and it was my block's seniors, including the blockhead, telling me I should move out because a freshman was checking in into that room. I told them the circumstances and I had to tell the hall office people (and got scolded) what was going on and they said I HAD to get out of that room immediately AND get the stuff out of 214 immediately too so the freshmen can move in. My things were unpacked and I have lots of stuff (I have over 70 mangas alone), and Henny's things were just as many as mine. 8 people from my block helped me clear out my room, they shoved all my stuff inside plastic bags, and dumped them in the corridor in front of my new room. Downstairs, at 214, just about every senior in the hall were clearing out 6 people's things and moving them to another room in another block. I felt so bad (I still do) for troubling everyone this morning. I was running around the whole morning apologizing to seniors and thanking them for their help, then apologized to the freshmen in my room and room 214 and their mothers for all the trouble I put them through. I was very stressed, mortified, and generally very pai seh! And when I got back to my new room, I still need to sort the things which were just dumped outside and inside so I can use the room. It's still messy now, but at least I can move in it. Henny will be coming back tomorrow so only until she move all her things to her new room (which is just beside mine) I can start putting some order in this room.
However I am glad that my hall people were so nice in helping me out, especially the people moving the roomful of things down at 214. I was amazed to see so many people turned up to help, although initially I only asked a few people to do it. I need to show my gratitude to them. Should think of something later. And those 6 people had better have the decency to apologize and thank the hall people for all the mess they're making while they're still enjoying their holidays at home in Indonesia!!!
After these commotion I had to go to the Matric Fair and help out the ISCF people recruit new members. It was fun. We actually spent more time talking among each other ^^ but I was so damn tired I kept sitting down on the floor to rest. I'm still very very tired now.....

[[clt : U2's Elevation -- my theme song of the moment, it's darn cool, man ]]
Before I forget again. I've been meaning to post this. My ICQ UIN is 2655874 (it needs autho) and my MSN Messanger addie is kin_tsubame at hotmail. The reason why I never put those infos down is that because I'm quite an unsociable person when I'm online ^^; I'm usually so preoccupied with whatever it is I'm doing that I just ignore people's messages. I do lots of things on my computer so I'm always online, but that doesn't mean I'm always in the mood for chatting. So urm... add me on your list, if you will, and I'd love to chat with you sometimes. Especially the people on my link list *grin*
Oh and Pei-yi, I think there's no limit on how many clubs you can join, except if you live in a hall like me. You're even encouraged to join as many as possible. There are tons of clubs here, just about on anything a human can possibly like. If you're an "on" person, then you'll enjoy it.
And urh, NUS Anime Club is looking great this month (as usual). Check out the upcoming events details, the EsperS review, and the message board (got Final Fantasy the Movie reviews, it's already showing here in S'pore... I got lots of things to catch up) =D I need to get in touch with my chairperson, vice-chair, and all those important people >.< And I need to discuss my future within the committee......
I *still* haven't showered. My bad hall habits are coming back, I can feel it~~~ Oh my God, it's my brother's birthday today....... ARGH... gotta email him.....

Oh hello. Selene back in her lovely hall, in her dusty old room with her lovely LAN connection. MUAHAHAHAHA. (I'm willing to forget the fact I had to restart my laptop 4 times to get it connected >.<) My flight was err... okay... It was slightly delayed and the aircon at the Jakarta airport didn't seemed to be working and it was so crowded I didn't get a seat in the boarding waiting area. So I called my mother and complained : "I AM NOT going to use this airline again!!! It's always late! I want my KLM!!!!" I'm not that picky with airlines, really. It's just that KLM has been giving me good service so far and Qantas (my airline today) has definitely not.
I sat next to an Indonesian girl who was going back to school in Melbourne. She wasn't very chatty due to a terrible cold. Poor girl. I have got to get use to people saying a certain number when I ask them which high school they went to. Numbers mean it's a government school, Selene. *baps herself* Obviously not everyone go to private schools <.<
I haven't been doing anything much. Not many people have come back, though some people have dropped by to my room to say hi =D ("I heard you went to Japan!!") I'll be moving rooms tomorrow and haven't packed my stuff at all, so I figure I'll just go back and forth carrying my stuff tomorrow morning. Plus the freshmen will be checking in and starting orientation and seniors will be returning so it's going to be a busy morning. And I have an afternoon shift at the Matric Fair. Anyway.... I have a new layout for Sora soon... and speaking about layouts, I love everyone's new log layouts! Will BBS later, because I have a Block Meeting now. And I haven't showered.

Charlene is right. The blogging community IS being very quiet lately. I myself don't really have anything meaningful to say, which is why I rambled on and on >.<
Anyway, my point in blogging is to say a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Syat. I know I'm late. And senile me can't remember whether your birthday is on the 10th or the 13th, since the other date belongs to ole cow Shar. Anyway, hope you had a great day, dear ^_^x We'll talk as soon as I get back to Singapore and catch you online. Oh, and when are you going to visit me? Come and I'll give you your present *smirk* Because I'm not going to there unless you yourself come and drag me all the way there =D

I am not going to the dentist EVER again. My visit to the dentist today turned into the ultimate hair-raising experience with all those screeches and scratchings and AAAAARRRRGGHHHHHHHHHH!!! *refuses to remember* On a different subject, I got myself a reddish highlight today. Yay. Took 3 hours of my time to get it done >.<
More mails from Singapore have arrived. "Dear Senior... no Hall event can be successful without your vociferous support..." The start of the 1st semester in NUS is the busiest time of the year. There are dozens of different orientations going on (faculties', halls', clubs'), Flag Day where we all go out and beg for coins on the streets, Rag Day where the huge floats each faculty and hall has been working on for the past 3 months will be paraded on the track, and the Hell All Freshmen Must Go Through : Matriculation Fair. Its all-important name is misleading. It's actually a hunting ground for dozens of clubs to prey on the helpless, innocent, unattached freshmen. And it's made as a 2-story, cleverly set-up, super LONG maze where there's no way out until you've passed through every single booth and hear them promote themselves. Thank God, my turn's over.
Anne, I like your The Ring review. No, the pics didn't really scare me until bedtime. I couldn't sleep and I tortured myself with my favourite pre-bedtime activity : remembering all the creepy horror stories I know. *browses Animonster articles* Actually, it's rather incredible how BIG J-culture in Indonesia right now.
Cher, I just found you on my referrers list. Thanks for linking me =) Douzo yoroshiku.
Shi-chan, *laughs* like I said, the entire Hall is actually filled with creepy horror stories so most of them are most likely bogus. Right now, the things most worthy to be scared of are the underwear thief and the peeping toms XD
Off to eat dinner~~

Everyone has a new layout! I particularly love Tin's and Shiori's XD
I've dugged out my old tapes and guess what, I have 15 hours of CCS episodes on tape, recorded from TV, Indonesian-dubbed, advertisement-free (well, uh, ok, sometimes there are still a couple episodes uncut) *dangling them in front of Icha*. Oh and BTW, I seem to be the only TouyaxKaho fan around... am I? (Of course I much prefer TouyaxSelene *dreamily*) I've never found fic with this pairing. I HATE YUKITO! >.< He's just... so useless =P He's just there to eat up all those nice, delicious-looking cakes. Pah. Now Yue is, of course, a different matter altogether *grin*
I also have several RK tapes, but they're those sucky Indonesian-dubbed Samurai X. Oh well, maybe when I feel like re-enacting the Shishio vs Kenshin fight again. I've been doing a lot of digging lately, since our 24-year old house will be torn down soon to be rebuild, so we'll need to pack everything and move away for some time and I might not be here when they do, so I better save my things now and pack them myself before my mothers goes through them and throws out just about every single thing I have... -.-
Search queries are getting... eerie. Today someone searched for "Selene otakutale.pitas.com" at Google *frown* Who would want to search this page, when s/he knows the URL? Do I have a stalker? *death stare* Or is it you again, Arief?
Kenchan, you sure you don't want to go out with me before I go back? =D
Anne, I was going to buy Animonster today but the July cover is Ayashi no Ceres *cringe* I want to read your The Ring review, though. Maybe I'll get it tomorrow.
Isabela, I'm so glad you found my email, since I kept forgetting to copy my email to be resend. I'll email you back soon.
5 more days to go till I return to Singapore and there's already an email for me to attend a committee meeting @.@ Ack, it'll be time to get busy soon. Bye bye, oh happy stress-free life ;__; IF I'm lucky, I'll see you in November *sniff, sniff*

I managed to catch CCS on TV just now *hanyaan* It's The Voice card episode. It's amazing how watching CCS always sends me into a pure hanyaan state afterwards. I can be in an extremely good mood for the rest of the day. I really don't know why. It's not like you can get high out of watching something, but apparently I can LOL I'll make it a point to watch CCS everytime I'm in a bad mood. Oh, and I also have a habit of getting a sudden craving for cakes after watching CCS. In the old days, I usually went out immediately to my favourite cake shop nearby and bought several sweet cakes. I can't go today, because my driver is missing >.< so I'll just cheer myself up with Almond Crush Pocky. *munch, munch* Hey, does anyone know anything about Tomoyo's female bodyguards? Those chicks in black with sunglasses? They're cool LOL I wonder why they're never mentioned or featured again. Maybe someone should make a fanfic featuring them...........
Oh and I watched Laputa last night. Now I remember why I never finished watching it. It's in Japanese with no sub at all and I didn't understand it as well as I do now =) It was okay, not really special in any way.
New link : Cammy. I kept forgetting to add her in my list, which is why I kept forgetting tocheck out her LJ.

I *love* my new haircut. Okay, it's not much different from my previous one, I always get the same haircut again and again, but from different hairstylists =D I tried a new one today. The hairstylist, John, just opened his place 2 weeks ago and an old friend of mine recommended him. His place is in the mall nearest to my house so my mother and I gave it a try today. And he styled my hair after cutting it, so now I look like I'm all set and ready to attend a party or go clubbing. Sadly, I'm not going anywhere tonight. Boo-hoo. My father remarked I looked like an anime character, since the style is a bit messy and the hair is sticking out to all direction, but I can't think of one anime character with an exact hairstyle *thinks* Maybe that girl from FLCL but I have a very vague memory of her. I'm so hooked with John (so is my mother ^^) I'm going back there in a few days to tint my hair red o.0
Other than that, today is my paternal grandmother's 49th-day death anniversary. We went to the temple this morning to attend the ceremony, which includes a lot of incense sticks and a lot of bowing and praying while the temple's ladies chanted some words and played the cymbals, gongs, and percussions. It ended with the burning of a HUGE paper house (it's about 2 m tall) complete with its own swimming pool, rooms, servants, and TVs for my grandparents (my grandfather died in 1986). Chinese believe that by burning all these things made of paper, they are sending them to be used by the dead people in the after life. Nowadays, they even burn paper mobile phones ^^; I have always avoided attending such Buddhist/Confucianist rituals or temples (I wasn't around everytime there's a death in the family to see the complete funeral rites). I'm not a Buddhist and I _absolutely_ can't stand the incense smoke. It stings my eyes and gives me runny nose. However, I find temples interesting. Someday I will have to find out who all those deities are and why some things look the way they do and not like something else =D
Yin, I'm sorry I haven't been checking your log since my Netscape always pulls an illegal operation when I try to open your log. You've been watching Koko wa Greenwood? *laughs* You must be the only person who still remembers the little things I said here a few months back. *admires* I like Greenwood a lot, although it's a rather old anime and it's only an OVA with 6 episodes - too short to allow any in-depth character development. I did see the mangas in Japan, though. They're way thicker than the average mangas. I like Mitsuru and his room mate, what's-his-name ((Nobuyuki? Noboru? N-something?). They are SO evil. I think they'll make a wonderful couple *nyahahaha* And, I miss SMS-ing you!!
Elyse, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you had a nice day!
Kenchan, I can see your log now *huge grin* You didn't have to fix it just for me, you know~~~ *touched*

New layout. I'm so sick of the previous one so I whipped this one in a short time and I'm just too lazy to do anything with it so this'll do for the mean time. Even the HTML coding is a lil bit sloppy. Never mind. It looks fine in my IE 5.5, but rather crooked in my NN4. And I like dull, plain black and white (or is it white and black?)XD Added a couple new links as well, while I remember about it.
For those who are not familiar with Meitantei Conan, those two guys up there *points up* are the same person. Kudo Shinichi was a high school student-cum-detective, until he had a run-in with some mysterious evil people who fed him a lil pill that turned him into small Edogawa Conan there. Of course, being small doesn't stop him from solving weird murder cases brilliantly, albeit by using some other unsuspecting person to do it for him. I like Meitantei Conan better than another famous detective series, Kindaichi. (I know Anne prefers Kindaichi. In fact, I notice Kindaichi is more popular among my friends. It's even translated into English in Singapore.) For one I like Conan's artwork better. The characters look pretty much the same =D but Shinichi still looks cool anyway (gimme a bishounen and I'm a loyal fan ^^). And secondly, I read Conan first before I started reading Kindaichi and some of the cases are alike, so Kindaichi always strikes me as a Meitantei Conan rip-off (although that's probably not the case). Though, some Conan's cases are also similar to many other famous detective stories too, like Conan Doyle's or Agatha Christie's. I'm rereading my Sherlock Holmes books now, thanks to Meitantei Conan. I haven't touched these books in 7 years! Now... where are my Agatha Christie books??
Anne, I went to Kino today. They're still in the process of moving, so it doesn't feel very nice. I guess it'll look, and feel, better when Sogo's really done with the upgrading process.
Mia, Arima-clone? *laughs* Well, you did say he's kinda quiet and reserved. Oh and as for universities, may I recommend NUS (again)? *grin*
Shiori, get well soon!
Rei-chan, this is the first pure anime/manga layout I've ever seen in your log =D It's a good sign! LOL
Among Newsweek's worst countries, is Indonesia, as the worst place on earth to be a president. We beg to differ, being a citizen is certainly worse than a president. At least, the president can still leech our money. We can't leech HIS money.
