Rough morning. My room phone is on but I forgot my PIN number to unlock it. After phoning a couple customer service operators, all of whom told me to phone another automated number to reset my PIN which kept telling me it couldn't processed my request, and trying out all PIN number variations I can think of and was told they were all wrong, I finally keyed in the correct number. 12345. Which is not even the PIN number I remember choosing when applying my phone >.< My classes and schedule have gone berserk. I couldn't get my own Business classes, due to lack of vacancy. How stupid is this thing? They're supposed to provide enough vacancy for ALL students. AAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH! *takes a deep breath* If they want me to have less than the minimum requirement of number of classes then FINE. Gives me more time to slack around and sleep =P

Kinokuniya had a lot HanaYume yesterday. From number 12 to number 16. And some of them were unwrapped. Hee hee hee. There was also an Asuka 9 unwrapped. I spotted an X OVA ad in it and urm, yes, his eyes are brown >.< I couldn't find HanaKimi 15 *pouts* I found KareKano 11 instead and bought it. I'm not too fond of the Kazuma and Tsubasa arc...

Anne, *wry grin* I never watch Indonesian soap operas. I don't watch TV that much, really. And you're right, post-Kyoto arc filler eps are BAAAAAAAADDDDD.
Kenchan, about that Conan log, if you're really going to make it, sure, why not? I don't have many Conan pics with me as well. All my mangas are at home ^^
Pei-yi, "doko" means "where" ^^; I was just wondering where you were.
Tin-sama, SANKYUUU~ *glomps Tin* Oh and why the move to LJ?
Emily, ooh nice new layout! Love the blue/black combination. Enjoy your trip to Japan =D
Laura Sedai, I love your layout as well =D And the previous one (I failed to mention that before ^^;) You're a great designer~~~!

I think I should get down to the usual layout-designing, website-making business soon. I guess I shouldn't worry. Once school starts properly for me, I'll come up with dozens of ideas at the same time, giving me excuse to procrastinate on my school works even more. Myahahaa.

Selene is trying to d/l Buffy & Angel eps on Tuesday, July 31, 2001, 11:31 a.m.

I have a feeling I've been sabotaged from all directions *sweatdrop* Why am I suddenly in so many non-hall committees? And suddenly so many meeting appointments coming my way?? Did I say OK to these people and forget about it? (It certainly has happened - I'm bad at remembering conversations I have - and I have a habit saying yes to everything before thinking thoroughly about it >.<) Or, I probably never said anything in the first place and they just saboed me anyway. Never mind. Lectures are starting tomorrow, but thanks to my wonderfully-arranged schedule I won't have any at all until Thursday *smirk* IF things go smoothly, I'll have my Mondays off for the rest of the semester. I'll be having lunch with dear mother tomorrow and do a lil bit of shopping *hums happily* Kinokuniya, here I come----!

Have I mention how I like Angel (as in Buffy's Angel)? I so love the show. Nothing is cooler than a dark, brooding vampire with his wind-blown jacket, walking down a darkened alley and a kickass opening/ending theme (which is playing on my Winamp right now XD). And I just realized Arief's TV has TPI, the Indonesian TV station which is currently airing the first season of Angel, although the screen is rather greyishly dotty ^^; Singapore is so close to Indonesia that we can get Indonesian TV channels here, albeit of dubious, eye-straining quality sometimes. Just now at church Peppie told me that now she's staying in Extension A, which is just beside my hall, her TV can get SCTV, another Indonesian channel. She told me to come to her room and watch crappy Indonesian soap operas like Saturday night's Pernikahan Dini together @.@

Selene glomps Angel on Monday, July 30, 2001, 12:13 a.m.

My parents called and screamed at me for not calling them for the past week *rolls eyes* My room phone is not connected yet to this room and my handphone's battery has been dead for days and I kept forgetting to charge it until this evening. And my parents also called several other people to look for me and THEY called me too to tell me my parents were looking for me. Do you know the feeling of extreme tiredness and the only thing you want to do is just rest or finish the things you need to do, but people keep coming and bugging you and making you think of other stuff to do? It's damn irritating. I barely sleep for the entire week and people are screaming at me for NOT calling? It's not like they don't know where I am. They knew I was very busy. They knew my room phone is not on. They knew I rarely bring my mobile around with me when I'm still within the hall compounds or when I'm working on something. And it's normal for me not to call for a week, sometimes more. They KNEW. The only thing they needed to tell me so badly on the phone is that my mother is coming to Singapore tomorrow to spend a few days before flying to Australia for my cousin's sweet 17 birthday bash @.@ Why can't she just surprise me? Come here and appear on my doorstep and say "Hi, honey, I'm here!" I just want to rest and think about nothing.

Anyway, on to some random pointless ramble, I finally bought Harry Potter 4th book some time last week. I'm one year late, I know. I'm too poor (or too stingy?) to buy hardcovers and I do not like to borrow books from other people to read when I know for sure I will buy it myself sooner or later. So one year wait for the paperback version it is. I happened to be at the Co-op getting something for a freshman when I saw the paperback version and snatched it immediately. But I haven't been able to read much of it because I have no time. The only time I can read it is in the toilet XD People who reads in the toilet rise up your hand, please XD I seem to be the only girl (I don't know about the guys... *grin*) in my block to do so, since I'm the one who constantly left books or magazines inside the cubicle. My block mates have been seeing an assorted array of books, from history textbooks to manga telephone books, for the past year and now they know any book found inside the toilet should be mine XD

Yin, congrats on getting hosted by Tin-sama!
Pei-yi, Becks' visit to VJC was all over the newspaper yesterday. So cool XD I don't watch football, either, but most people I know do. It's THE sports to watch and play in Indonesia. My cousin would _die_ just to have Becks visit her school.
Garnet just submitted her site to IASC XD I'll process your (and other) submissions ASAP. I need to change the layout too. For now, I just need to rest and regain my focus. Not to mention school's starting on Monday----
Kenchan, actually *laughs* I know all the words in this page o.0 But I don't swear ^_^x At least, I try not to. It's not a very nice habit to indulge in. I can say rude things to other people without swearing, so why swear? *evil grin*
Anne, nyaaaahhhh-- it's finally up! Nice job~~~! I notice The Ring is very popular in Singapore. I mean, almost everyone have watched it and Sadako is more popular than any other horror villain. Yesterday I was talking to Clive, a Rag designer and he was saying something about our lion's mane looking like Sadako's hair. LOL. And on Funkamania last year, someone in the audience yelled Sadako loudly during our dance performance, since our dance had a spooky, ghostly theme.
Charlene, are you joining the Miyuki Cosplay? I just got an email from the NUS Anime Club and there's an URL for the Miyuki Cosplay infos... *rummages Inbox* it's here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ARIEF! Congrats for Rag success, too. May God bless.

WE WON!!!!!!!

Ahem, to be more accurate, we won the Chancellor's Shield, which is the highest award for Rag & Flag for overall champion. *silly grin* We also won the award for Best Float Presentation. I bet it's because of the dancers elaborate costumes and the domino-effect static display. WOO! I still can't help whooping to myself now and then =D After Rag, the whole hall came back drenched from standing and cheering in the rain and kept on screaming and cheering to each other like crazy across the blocks. And yes, everyone is wearing a silly grin similar to mine and we're all soaked so I'm not alone.

Manticore X (our float : the half-robotic, half-natural winged lion) did a great performance today. Last night we tried the mechanism a few times and it didn't turned out very well with so many joints and all, so we were very happy to see that everything went smoothly during the actual performance itself. Everyone agreed that this year our float is really risky. Our float last year, which won 5 awards but not the Chancellor's Shield, was a phoenix. Its movements were only the spreading & flapping of its wings, the raising of the head, and the turning of the head. Manticore X, however, can sit up from its original lying position, turn 360 degrees, spread its wings & flap them, blink its eyes, lift its front paws, open its mouth, and turn its head. Everything is operated by 3 people inside by pulling numerous ropes (and several outside to help turn it around). Last night the deadline was on 3 AM, after 3 we weren't allowed to touch the float at all and you can imagine the rush minutes before 3. There were people running everywhere carrying paint, glue, scissors, stapler, and all sorts of equipment and yelling to each other. Rag Comm were in so much stress.

The award announcement itself was very nerve-wracking for us all. We won the first award being read : the Best Presentation, but after that all the awards went to Temasek Hall, who swiped around 4 or 5 awards. And they happened to stand next to us on the field, cheering non-stop, award after award. It was raining hard, it was cold, we were so damn wet and were huddling together for warmth, but when the Chancellor's Shield award was announced, we instantly jumped around and screamed and cheered. Some people cried (okay, so I got a bit teary when I was hugging the Rag comm members - they were all crying). This is the first time Kent Ridge Hall won the Chancellor's Shield, so do forgive us for getting so excited =) Hall Spirit is exceptionally high and let's hope it'll continue all throughout this school year, where we'll accomplish more things than before. Go KR!

Will BBS later. As for now, I need shower XD

Selene gives three cheers to Rag Comm members! on Saturday, July 28, 2001, 03:14 p.m.

Just finished Rag for the night *red bleary eyes* I did the dancers costumes today in the dance room and I could watch the dancers practice while working =) I kinda feel comfortable working in the dance room. After all, I did spent some days and nights in there. The freshmen dancers are fun people, too =) They're all very nice. But I missed chatting with the freshmen girls upstairs. I was working solo tonight for most of the time. The choreographers for Rag dance are MH and SY, my batch fellow dancers. SY actually used several Yoko Kanno's Macross Plus songs and I was constantly approaching him when I heard a new song to say "Is this one from Escaflowne/Arjuna/whatever?" then he was constantly saying "No, it's Macross Plus. They're *ALL* from Macross Plus". I have to say the dance is very nice and the music really fits. Can't wait to see the entire performance showcase.

We've moved our float to the tiny parking space in front, just beside the road, but we cover our working place with canvas. Still, mysterious-acting people have started to show up to spy on us. Some even openly did so, under the pretext of observing in the behalf of the Student Union and asked a zillion questions ("Are those Tetra-Paks really recycled ones? You really didn't buy them??"). Peh. Rag Comm members were so pissed about it but we thought seeing our float would only make them feel bad about their own floats and give them a preview of their future defeats ^^; As if THEY can do something with their own floats in thse last few days after spying on us. I had begun to suspect every car that passed were spies. Just joking =D I may be paranoid, but I'm not that paranoid (I hope...).

*waves to Emily* Thanks for linking me *hearts* I like your layout! And those Fruits Basket screencaps! I want to watch FB~~~ Yukiii~~~ *drools*
Happy belated birthday, Yukimi!

On a last note, hall's supper's Milo sometimes tastes like sour water and sometimes tastes like a mixture of coffee and Milo. Coffee, however, simply tastes awful *shudders*. I shall stick with the milk tea from now on. One more day of Rag to go. Go KR! ("KR KR is the best, we will beat all the rest!")

[[clt : Sakamoto Maaya's Koucha -- my favourite song =)]]

I just found out what happens when you've been sleeping very few hours for a few days and then sleep for a long time the day after. I woke up yesterday and today after long hours of sleeping and I looked even worse than the days when I hadn't been getting enough sleep. I have puffy eyes and I feel lethargic whole day long. I just look awful!!!

Despite my group slacking around, it looks like our Flag Day earnings are not so bad. I heard it's better than last year's. The results will only be announced tonight during senior performance. As for Rag Day, it's 2 more days of working for us, including today and we're rushing. The Rag Comm people are so stressed they're in such a bad shape, and they still have to do some human-relating with the freshmen and seniors amidst all the work. Many Rag Comm people are my friends - most of the members, including the chairperson himself, are Indonesians - so I help them out a bit here and there.

Freshman #1 : I need scissors!
Selene : I'll find you one *runs to other tables trying to spot scissoors lying unused on the table*
Senior #1 : Do you have anymore work for us to do?
Selene :I'll find you one *runs to Rag comm member and asks what else is available to do*
Senior #2 : We need a collection point for all the origamis we've done
Selene : I'll find you one *runs to get an empty box*
Freshmen #2 : We need more double-sided tape
Selene : I'll get you one *rummages equipment box to find it*
Selene : Other than those, can I get you supper? Milo? Bread?

So basically I just run around getting people the things they need LOL After the freshmen have gone back, I sat with my block's seniors and worked together while joking around. It was fun. I like Ragging. I enjoyed Ragging last year as a freshman that's why I'm doing it again this year. Many people have asked me why I didn't join Rag Comm when I'm so enthusiastic about Rag. Rag Comm works for the entire holiday, since May until the Rag Day itself and it will mean sacrificing my entire holiday if I join Rag; and I've already promised my high school choir I was going home for their concert. Besides, Rag Comm members survive with 4 hours of sleep every night for the past month, sometimes even less. During Flag Day, when we ate breakfast at 6 AM, Rag Comm members were still sitting on the table they were on when I left them at 2 AM and still working their hands off. I love sleep too much to afford to lose the precious hours of sleeping~~ ^^;

Tonight we'll have formal dinner and seniors performance and after that, more Rag. 2 more days to go~~~~~

Selene drinks Koucha on Thursday, July 26, 2001, 01:48 p.m.

I actually had a chance to watch Noir ep 1 yesterday, amidst all the things I had to do (and end up not doing - my room is still in a state of absolute shambles and I'm running out of clean underwear). I don't know about the storyline yet (somebody please tell me whether there's anything remotely yuri about it, or whether there's any yuri Noir fanfic @.@) but I _love_ the soundtrack. *is searching for them now* MommyItch and DaddyToast would love them too.

Flag Day today went well... My group was stationed in Eunos and during morning rush we had to compete with several other halls and faculties to get donations from the people >.< In the late afternoon almost everyone we saw had already donated ("market is overly saturated") since NUS students were prowling on all corners of Singapore asking for donations. We weren't supposed to go back until we filled up all the tin cans we have or until 8 pm, whichever comes first. We decided to call back and Flag Comm chair told us to move to a different location. And of course, we said yes, but Orchard was even worse than Eunos. There were lots of people, of course, but they didn't donate at all and ignored us. We decided to slack and eat a nice enjoyable dinner instead.

My group had 4 freshmen and 2 seniors, including me. But after lunch, XQ, the other senior, had to go back and left me alone with the freshmen. But they were very nice and easy to talk to, and we were all slackers hahaha.... We spent more time talking and sitting around than actually Flaging. Yes, Selene is a bad senior ^^; We went back after 8 alright, but we only managed to fill up less than two cans per person ^_^;

Flag Day is interesting, in a way that it allows us, as Flagers, see for ourselves the display of all kinds of human behaviours when it comes to m-o-n-e-y. Some people actually went all the way to making a long detour around just to avoid us - and avoid donating a mere 10 cents. Some people just claimed they simply have no money or small change. Some people just walked past us, ignoring us despite us taking to them. Or some people just pretended to look through us, as if we were transparent. But all in all, it makes an interesting experience.

I haven't been BBS-ing people lately, but I still read everyone's blogs everyday. So keep on blogging, people. Mia, ask Anne for my Singapore's mobile phone number or email me if you ever need to come to Singapore.

I think I might be able to get a 6 hour sleep tonight... Yay. But then again maybe not, since I don't know tomorrow's schedule yet. *boinks*

Selene asks for charity donation on Tuesday, July 24, 2001, 10:42 p.m.

All night long hall people have been telling me "Hey, Megawati is the Indonesian president now" and I had no time to check out the news online until now so here's the online Straits Times article about it. Someone asked me whether I supported Megawati and my answer, probably like most other people, is that I support no one. I do not think my generation and below would care much about who's the president, since it doesn't make much a difference. I do hope that being the figure much hoped upon by many people, the new president will fulfill those expectations and do a much better job than her predecessors. At least I hope she wouldn't try to do an idiotic thing like trying to disband the National Assembly when the President is actually beneath the National Assembly in the power chain. *snort* Anyone who graduates from high school should know very well that it blatantly violates the Constitution. Somebody should send Gus Dur a senior high school State Administration textbook so he can read it for himself. Oh yeah I forgot... he's half-blind.

Anyway, Flag Day is tomorrow -- today, since it's already 2 AM+ -- and we're going out to collect money for charity in the streets, so Singaporeans, give us your money =D I have less than 3 hours to sleep, so going now. I can write more about Indonesian politics and state administration laws some other time.

Selene NEEDS SLEEP!!! on Tuesday, July 24, 2001, 02:31a.m.

I'm back *waves wildly* I had LOADS of fun that I'd be glad to share it with you all, except I'm not allowed to, due the secretive nature of the event. Suffice it to say that I had so much fun and I totally enjoyed myself. It was very tiring but it was worth it. Will tell you about it if we chat.

The Vice-Chancellor of NUS said in a conference that final exams are not necessary. On that same day the article was published, I got an email telling me two of the classes I'm supposed to take this semester won't have a final exam. Oh yesh, thank you God. I'm supposed to register my classes today and stupid cocked-up computer system refused to let me through from here. I will have to go to the faculty's lab and do it from there -.-

I slept for only a mere uncomfortable 1 hour this morning and I nearly fell asleep standing up afterwards @.@ Then I lost my room key and had to pay a fee to get the spare key from the office. My eyes are no longer focusing on anything now. LOL. Will blog later.

Selene needs sleep on Monday, July 23, 2001, 03:03 p.m.

Day 5 of Orientation : morale was low, people were sick and I feel like I'm about to, too. *chugs water*

What I did the whole day :
~ missed a morning meeting because I thought it was Thursday, not Friday @.@
~ played war games and got myself wet -- took one water bomb square in the face
~ watched Final Fantasy the Movie -- graphics & artwork were great, dialogue sounds like some poorly-dubbed English translated from Japanese, Aki had a perpetual look of bewilderment and blurness on her face, and the captain guy is just so Ben Affleck-ish fake. And where are the wonderful Nobuo Uematsu soundtracks?? Peh. And what was the story about again? Sounds like a recycled version of some FF7's scenes.
~ watched Gravitation 3-5 -- Yuki Eiri ga ichiban daisuki---!
~ visited Dendryboy at Prince Georges' Park, the newest on-campus student housing which looked like a very posh condominium.... I like!
~ had a night meeting where almost everyone were 1 hr late, including the chairperson >.<
~ which then made me late for Block Supper
~ finally realizing it was Friday, not Thursday, circa 10.48 pm
~ attended some briefings *yawn*
~ helped out Rag people -- less than 7 days until Rag Day!

I will not be able to blog for a couple of days due to a super-secretive Event Horizon I'm not supposed to mention anywhere in public. I'm now damn shagged, my laundry is still not dried yet, I haven't done my preparations yet and I need to get up early tomorrow. So good night and see you in a couple days.

Selene crashed into bed on Saturday, July 21, 2001, 03:22 a.m.

*whacks herself* I always left out a few people everytime I changed layout >.< The previous version left out Yukimi and the current one left out Lin. Then just now I realized I left out Shiori too. Gomen! Oh and, thanks to Kimi for linking me.

April, *laughs* actually I realized that last night. I have already fixed it =)
Hikaru, the font I used on the purple bars on the left is called Budhand. I can't remember where I downloaded the fonts from, most likely one of those large free font sites ^^
Yin, *death glare* it's not very nice to eat icecream in front of me and NOT share it with me, you know *more death glares*
Cher, thanks for the little note you left me on my gbook. Hope you're enjoying yourself.
Wami is back in the blogging world. *boinks on Kara*

Tired. Need shower. Need to make new layouts >.< *rummages picture and manga collection*

Selene -- Less Than 9 More Days to Rag Day on Thursday, July 19, 2001, 04:32 p.m.

A story in the Campus Crusade freebie diary I got from Matric Fair today :

---------
To : Jesus, son of Joseph
Woodcrafter
Carpenter shop,
Nazareth.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for submitting resumes of the 12 men you have picked for management positions in your new organization. All of them have now taken our battery of tests; we not only ran the results through our computer, but also arranged personal interviews for each of them with our psychologist and vocational aptitude consultant. It is our opinion that most of your candidates are lacking in background, education, and vocational aptitude for the type of enterprise you are undertaking. They do not have team concept, and we would recommend that you continue your search for persons of experience in managerial ability and proven capability.

SIMON PETER is unstable and given to fits of temper.
ANDREW has absolutely no qualities of leadership.
JAMES and JOHN, sons of Zebedee, place personal interest above company loyalty.
THOMAS demonstrates a questioning attitude that would tend to undermine morale.
We feel that it is our duty to tell you that MATTHEW has been blacklisted by the Greater Jerusalem Better Business Bureau.
JAMES and THADDEUS definitely have radical leanings and they registered a high score on the manic depressive scale.
SIMON THE ZEALOT, having pronounced terrorist leanings, would blow apart the harmony of the team.

One of the candidates, however, shows great potential. He is a man of great ability and highly resourceful, he meets people well, has a keen business mind and contact in high places. He is highly motivated, ambitious, and responsible. We recommend JUDAS ISCARIOT as your controller and right-hand man. All of the other profiles are self-explanatory.

We wish you every success in your new venture.

Sincerely yours,
JORDAN MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS

Hikaru, which font did you mean? The "standard deviation" up there is called Tork =)

New layout, featuring the Ragun/Lagoon brothers of Lagoon Engine by Sugisaki Yukiru. I like this picture a lot because of its crowded multi-color background so I didn't do much to it. If you look well, you can see Daisuke and Risa/Riku (I always mix them up, sorry... ^^;) from DN Angel at the back. Anyone who wants to read the latest few entries, it's here.

Pei-yi, doko?
Shiori, I just realized you changed layout again. You change your layout every week! *grin* I like this one a lot, because I'm a mad CCS fan and because it's a lovely yellow =)
Yin, you want Mitsuru x Shinobu fics? *evil cackles* There aren't many but try this or this. Enjoy. *more evil cackles*

Does anyone know where I can download the Gravi eps I missed?
