IceCream : There was a big spider in front of my room!
Starblitz : What did you do?
IceCream : I swept it away with a broom
Starblitz : How did it get there in the first place?
IceCream : There's a jungle right outside my room? O.o That's why we get lots of animals around here. Sometimes the squirrel comes out to play on the drying area between my room and the jungle. He's cute =)
Starblitz : Cool! How do you know the squirrel is a he?
IceCream : ......
IceCream : You asked the same question as my neighbour when I referred the spider as a he
Starblitz : Oh ok...... so all scary things and cute things is a he.
IceCream : What else can be scary and cute but males?! XD
One more chapter to go and I'll be finished with my Econs textbook. I've been studying, people!!!!! (Minna : "It's a miracle! Selene is finally studyinggg!" My friend Bambang refers it as "the 8th Wonder of the World") Anyway, I'm not someone who can concentrate on one thing for a long time so while studying I got an inspiration how to solve my ZS layout problem AND a new layout for this log *hums happily*
It has been raining and the weather is very cold and very nice now ^^ I don't know why V-chan hates rain, but I love it =D It cools my temper and it's certainy better than the humid, scorching hot tropic sun. It's such a nice weather to sleep in. The girls on my floor were all taking a nap and now they're up and trying to get people to come down and play frisbee soccer or volleyball with them *shudder* Such a nice weather to slack in and THEY want to exercise instead. Bleh. Even the court is wet. Ewww.

I was going to do a "quick" morning readings of people's blogs when I checked my referrers (after ages of not doing so) and found several new blogs that link me *glomps Noelle and Isabela* I love both of your log layouts! I was listening to Tomodachi when viewing Noelle's log *grin* Ne, Noelle, f2s.com supports CGI and it's free ^_^ take a look at V-chan's log ^^ Oh, and I also found a transcript of a chat that mentioned this URL when they were talking about people's blogs and sites O.o Interesting, though LOL. Shimatta, look at the time! *panic*

Oh my God... either I use pop-up windows or manually edit over 100 files *cringe* I think manually edit 100 files is the better option *bangs head on the table* Unless someone can tell me how I externally link scrollers.
selene lost her patience on Wednesday, April 11, 2001, 07:21 p.m.
ooh *laugh* She has a poll up on what people think about this blog war *amused* Glad everything turned out well with apologies and cooling downs =)
Yin, I LOVE the new layout. And yes, my credit almost run out too ^^ What's the URL to the HanaKimi selecter? I wanna try =) Laura, I love your new layout too, never mind it's been used on other sites. And um, they say native English speakers are actually worse in grammar than the non-natives.... maybe it's true for SOME people ^_^x
ZS is driving me crazy. Yes, it's that time of the year again : updating ZS. I'm going to die. I try to make ZS as easily navigatable as possible, because I think people come mainly for the content and they would want to find what they want to read and read it easily. In the past, a lot of visitors have told me what they want and in what ways I should improve and I have taken all of them into considerations. I also keep in mind that I have a 1.33 Pentium, 8 MB RAM, 1 GB harddisk, 33.6 Kb modem, 6-year old computer back home. Serious. Because of all my worries ^^; I usually ask the opinion of many people about my ZS layouts before I launch it ^_^x So, come online, people, and I'll send you a copy of the layout or the URL =)

Maruzen IS closing =( It will close at the end of this month, but before that they well have a sale from 21 - 30 April. I'm going to buy everything I can get my hands on. I went there today and spoke with the employees. Apparently the closure was the Tokyo headquarter's decision and the people there felt sad about it too, since they thought they are not doing bad at all. They also told me the current manager plans to open another book store if they can get the suppliers, since Maruzen has a lot of loyal customers who subscribe magazines or books through them. They asked me for my phone number and promised to call me if they do open a new store. I really, really hope they will!!!!!! Anyway, with the demise of Maruzen, Kinokuniya will no doubt be the monopolizing force in the Jap books market >.< It might even increase the price more due to the increasing demand!! Even the Maru ppl thought so too. Kino's going to capture all my consumer surplus! I have no social welfare!!!! Society will experience deadweight loss! Demo, I doubt any barrier to entry exists, so I can always hope a new competitor will enter the market and therefore lower the price, yes? Except if Kino itself is not experiencing enough profits *frown* Books are quite a big business in Singapore, the society being quite a literature-minded one (compared to Indonesia >.<), which is why there are lots of books stores here, BUT the large market is only for English books. Despite having a majority Chinese-speaking population, a lot of people can't read Chinese and prefer to read English. So far there's only one Chinese books specialty book store and if I could read Chinese, I'd love to shop there. I went there with my mother once and she read out some of the titles for me and they sounded interesting. The market for Japanese books must be even smaller, a niche. Hmm... but even niche markets can have perfect competition, deshou, deshou!!!!!!??????? I want my welfare back! I'm only a poor student....... ;_;
My first exam is on Monday and as you might have notice, it's Economics ^_^x Now, excuse me, I have to go back analyzing my monopoly graphs >.<

I had been forced to wake up at this ungodly hour to register for a room for the holiday after a mere 3 hours of sleep (no thanks to Syat and K8 >.<) only to find that several people, those who made me get up at this hour, who were trying to be helpful (or rather, in their own self-interest), have taken to impersonate me in doing so and THEN failed to inform me about it, making me bear the brunt of some serious scoldings by the hall admin officers. Pah. And the room is not even for me. It's just registered under my name. Now you know why I don't like the people here.
BTw, Laura, I'm watching Kodocha ep 52+ now and it seems that Sana is calling Hayama "Peggy". Dunno why. It must something in ep 30-51? And your friend April is making a Belgariad/Malloreon site???? *perks up* Can you tell her I'm soooooooooooooo happy that she's making one? =D And oh yes, a Silk shrine.
Darling Noo-noo, I love you although I usually don't understand a word you're saying, but thassok! Tonsilitis is a real pain (I just had mine in Feb) so get well soon. And eat a lot of ayam soup! Kuasa ayam!!!!!! Goooooooooo maddoooooooooooooooooo! (talk to Noo twice after years of not talking and suddenly you're talking Noo language! LOL)
Going back to bed for a few hours............ =) A random note : I love, love, love, LOVE Allen. Go away Van.

I am getting tired of this I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about since it's EVERYWHERE!! Sure, it was twistedly fun reading other people's blogs and see what they have to bitch about (okay, maybe I'm the only one who thinks so?), so dare I hope it's over now? I believe Tin said all there is to be said about logs and other forms of publicly-shown works. I am not going to say anything. Yin knows what I think.
selene is at peace after prayer meeting on Monday, April 9, 2001, 07:48 p.m.
Bach's St Matthew Passion was...... heavy. LOL. It took a little time getting used to, especially since I think the choir was a bit of a mess in the beginning. They had this tendency to absolutely fall apart in forte moments. But the soloists were all wonderful. It turned out my choir leader, Ndaru, was doing the Evangelist role, the role that narrates the entire story so he was always singing, but in recitative style @_@ I really can't appreciate recitatives LOL. Arias are fine, but recitatives are... well... recitatives.
More and more people are finding this page thanks to these weird search queries : "operations management tutorial" (I don't make mine, thank you very much), "vases for icecream" (who would use a vase for ICECREAM?), "gigi lu pic" (what the....... is this one of my 3rd grade ex-classmates?? >.<), "inside Plaza Senayan" (ask Mia! ^_^)
Laura, yes your blog was down yesterday =)
Anne, I think I fell in love with one of your Sakuya pic. Can I make a layout out of it.... some day when I feel like it?
Mia, I'm gonna have to ask you out for lunch at Plaza Senayan (or Plaza Indonesia?) when I'm back ^_^x That goes the same for Anne but she has to let me raid her collection of goodies first MUAHAHAHA...

[[clt : Utada Hikaru's Distance ]]
I was leafing through my Distance booklet and read the lyrics of "Wait & See" : ”リスク が ある から こそ、 愛する 程 に せつない から。” That sounds.... incredibly like Finance @_@ It's Finance's main rule : the bigger the risk, the higher the return. Suddenly, love is a lot like.... finance *falls over* So if I fail in Finance... no, I don't want to think about it LOL ^_^x
I just realized how lately logs have been used to bad-mouth other people >.< Like what they are doing to Saavik. I guess, it's quite inevitable. I mean, a blog IS one's own personal thing and people can write whatever they want in there and there's nothing wrong with that. I guess the best one can do when caught up in this kind of blog flame war is either to stay out of it or act MATURE.
Dunia ini.......... macam-macam.

[[ clt : Utada Hikaru's Distance album -- just bought it today ^_~ ]]
And I'm already using the album's cover for my layout @_@ Peach Tea has been updated. Not very well done, but *shrug* I enjoyed making it neverthelessly.
I went to do my volunteer work again this morning and as it turned out, I was the only volunteer so I had to play assistant teacher @_@ I really have no experience with little kids and err.. yeah... it was quite tough. Lucky I got to teach the class nicer kids. They kept calling me "Teacher". LOL. I had a long talk with the class coordinator afterwards and as it turned out, all of the children are problematic. It was a reading class and I initially assumed it's some sort of extra tuition for the kids learning how to read, as in kids around 3-5 years old. But some of them are actually in primary school and therefore should be able to read quite well, but because of their problems, they can't. One boy is hyperactive and when he's not taking his medications, he can be very harmful to others. Nearly all of them have learning difficulties. Some of them come from problematic families with little English exposure. And all of them were referred by psychiatrists to attend this class. 0.o The coordinator said she has a few autistic children in her other classes and I really can't imagine how it feels to be autistic or to try to teach an autistic child when they hardly know what's going on. It was an eye-opening experience, alright. There was this primary 3 girl who couldn't read "voice". And when I was in primary 3 I was already reading lengthy books. Reading is my favourite thing to do and I can't imagine having reading difficulties and therefore unable to read as much as I would've want to. These children will probably not be able to understand lessons taught in primary school, much less go to secondary school.
Makes you realize just how lucky you are, ne?

Pei-yi, I was a strict fantasy reader about... say... 5-7 years ago? (how times flies) During my junior high school days I read fantasy like mad. You can't imagine how I drove my family crazy with having to find books all the time for me everytime they went abroad. Fantasy books were the first English books I read. I was in 6th grade, I ran out of Indonesian-translated books to read and I've even read all the serious, mature novels. So I thought of reading English books since there are tons and tons more of English books out there for me to read. A friend of my brother brought his Raymond E. Feist's Magician to my house one day and I begged him to lend it to me. He did, finally, and I had the hardest time reading the 600-something-paged book (in super small letters, no less!). But I finished it, got hooked on it, and collected the entire Riftwar series. That Magician book was later given to me. It's yellowed and a bit worn-out now, but it's one of my most precious books. And I still read it every holiday, like my Belgariad ^_^ *pause* I think reading old books is what I do every holiday. LOL. Anyway, now I ran out of fantasy books to read because most of them don't really look promising and I'm very picky with what I want in a fantasy book, since the fantasy genre has a lot of variations. I'm always looking for recommendations, though =) I think Laura mentioned some names I haven't read.
I don't think you're losing anything from not continuing to read WoT ^_^x I suggest you spend your money and time on Eddings instead =) Oh and about Argento Soma.... well, I've only watched until ep 3, but the first episode is remarkably like Evangelion. You get the picture ^^
BTW, Laura, there is such a thing as Saitou fans. You only need to go to miburo.com. And of course, I'm one of those Saitou worshippers. Which is why Zero Stance is called, well, Zero Stance ^^

I have to comment on this pic again. I really, really like it! Because we look like we were really having so much fun *laugh* See, there's my daddy there (the bald ugly guy), my ex-husband who was my choir conductor for 5 years right beside me, and my darling mommy Icha! Those who've been complaining I never tell them which one I am can figure out which one is me from the info I just gave you XD I can't tell where the pic was took, though. At first hunch it looked like somewhere around the then 2-5 classroom. Then I thought it looked like the lobby. Which is it? I miss high school. I miss my uniform. I miss everyone. I miss everything. WAAHH----!!!
selene is feeling nostalgic on Saturday, April 7, 2001, 12:41 a.m.
The FCBC CG people was doing a room-to-room visit a few hours ago. They do that on every exam season. Offering some drink or snack and some short prayers. I must say I feel greatly encouraged by them, especially since Joanne is always the one who knocks on my door. She's REALLY nice. I really like having her as a blockmate. And if it weren't for her, I wouldn't have gotten this nice lovely single room. What they brought me today was chrysantemum tea and the unusual thing about it is that they didn't throw the flowers away. I felt a bit strange seeing whole flowers floating in my cup with their petals and other parts I'd rather not think about.
Exam season is boring. Nothing is on and unlike school days, these people are actually in their room for the sake of studying and not out prowling the streets somewhere. It actually makes the block feel a lot busier. My room is quite strategically located at the top of a shortcut stairway and next to the communal bathroom and the Jungle wing's corridor so people bored in their room walk back and forth in front of my door or the corridor beside all the time. And when people are stressed from studying, they'll be very noisy when talking. ^_^x Oh hall life, hall life...
Laura, I think Rand is a bit like Kamui in the early volumes only. Kamui is a LOT better than Rand. Rand has this very childish attitude about being the strongest and seems to be intend on showing everyone just that. I like Polgara, though =) I somehow like Eddings' women better too. I think of them as strong rather than domineering. I don't read fantasy books anymore *sigh* But I do read my Belgariad like a ritual on every holiday. Don't know why *laugh*

I was looking at Daddy's HTML assignment and see this pic WHEN WAS THIS??? I can't remember....... It's the 2-5-ers plus err... me ^^ and woo-hoo, our official yearbook committee pic (it's what we really put in our yearbook! ^^) Don't forget to check out MORE pics of my three years in high school here.
Yin, it's not because I like Stats and Finance like J and her Physics >.< I actually hate both of them LOL Especially Finance. I failed my mid-term and my quizzes and am really in danger of failing the entire module. But if I do, it means I have to repeat it next sem and I don't want to do that!!!!
I've been getting this weird feling that this layout reminded me of something since I made it. Now I know. The colours of the background and the links are exactly like Elyse's log!!! Except in reverse ^_^;
selene just woke up on Friday, April 6, 2001, 02:17 p.m.
Just scanned dozens of pics and put them up at B 318, if you want to look at the pics, just go straight to the gallery. It just occured to me that starting July I'll be moving room to B 427 ^_^x Should I change the title of my personal site then?? =)

My network's been down the WHOLE day until now -_- Meanwhile, I've watched several CDs of Escaflowne (thank you so much Mui for lending me *tearful eyes*), read 1 1/2 chapter of my despicable Finance book (and understand nothing about floats except reading that section made me want to drink McD's Floatie), and sung all Escaflowne and Bebop tunes that came to my mind (disturbing my neighbours, as usual, and the people in the shower cubicles beside me XD). Yoko Kanno is the best composer alive (of course, my other favourite composers are long dead...). It's... 10 more days till my first exam and *counts* I still have time to finish Esca. Woo-hoo! More reasons to procrastinate!!!!!!!! Then there's those Vandread CDs Dendry is going to lend me... *leers*
Kara's going to the Jap embassy to apply for her visa.... so do I ^_^ Next week, maybe. It's so troublesome. Minli and Mui don't have to apply for one, because they're Singaporeans :P
I LOVE V-chan'sTKO's new layout, especially since I just finished watching Bebop and love it to death. WAAAAAAAAA--HHH!
SMS-ing with Anne now =D I think Yin hasn't topped up her card yet because she's been missing since.... yesterday ^_^ And I wonder whether J knows it's me who's been sending her creepy SMS ROFL
Laura, to tell the truth I can't find anyone I REALLY like in WoT, which is why I stop reading it. Besides, RJ IS milking our money -_- and Rand is an idiot. Can't the main character be a bit likable? Sheesh... I think of the lot I like Siuan best... Err.. yeah... I do hope she'll get hook up with that guy (forgot his name! hahahaha...)
Mia, get well soon! You make me wanna eat bubur ayam too.... ;_;
Tin, congrats on getting accepted at that London school! But you are now currently an undergraduate, right? So if you go there, you'll also be doing an undergraduate course?
Laura, XD I'm still waiting for that Polgara site... or was it the Aes Sedai clique/site? I forgot what we talked about...
Anne, I forgot to ask your mobile just now muahahaha...
Icha, you should come online more often *pouts* and don't forget to ask your roommate whether she can suggest something for me ^_^
THIS is my daddy Toshi's first attempt in making a web page ^_^x He refused my offer for help and disconnected himself then a few minutes later came an e-mail from him saying he's having trouble with it. I'm not going to say I told you so but... well, told ya so :P

I just finished watching Cowboy Bebop. That was the best ending episode I have ever seen!!!!!! I think most ending episodes of other series suck because they're usually worse than the initial episodes, inconclusive or an anti-climax. But this one is really nice~~~~! Anne, actually, Maru is not that famous here *laugh* I think it's just me who's a big fan of it. Maru here is very small and ordinary and is located rather inconspicuously at a small corner of Takashimaya department store's top floor, while the nicely-designed Kinokuniya (which is touted as the largest book store in SE Asia) is located in the same building and occupy a HUGE space, so you can imagine which one people prefer more. I think the only people who prefer Maruzen are only the Japanese who live here in Singapore and.... me ^_^x I'm trying to get more people to shop there, though. Most of my fellow NUS Anime Club-ers shop there now, after they found out how much higher Kino charges. Hrnn.. my mother says Kinokuniya in Shinjuku is impressive though (where she got me my X 15 *niko niko* Sugoi no kaa-san! =D). Looking forward to ransack it. Mwahahahaha...

I was blog-hopping when I came to this pitas and read her comments on sites using CLAMP layouts. Personally I don't think most people out there use a CLAMP layout simply because it is "in". The fact is, CLAMP *is* in. They're gaining more and more popularity lately and the number of CLAMP fans out there is growing everyday, so I'm not surprise to see people out there liking them and using their work as layouts. Although I do think some of the images are over-used, but when you want to make a layout out of an image because you think it'll make a good layout, do you stop just because someone else has already used it? How limiting. I don't think someone would make a layout out of something if he/she doesn't at least like it a bit. So what if he/she is not a hardcore fan and barely knows anything about it. The fact that he/she is willing to make a layout out of it means there must be at least an interest in it.

I've been exchanging SMS with Yin all day long ^_~ And I'm going to bug Jessica as well now Yin has given me her number. Oh yeah and I'll be bugging Syat too because SHE can't SMS me back *snicker* I love my international-SMS-enabled SIM card =)
